A Few Words on the Artist...

The artist at his easel....
Carlton at the Easel

With the saltwater of a long line of Chesapeake Bay watermen in his blood and close ties to the Mesas and Pueblos of New Mexico, this painter's subject matter is about as diverse as one can imagine.

Born on Virginia's beautiful Eastern Shore, reared in Virginia Beach, four years in the U.S. Coast Guard, and studies at the Richmond Professional Institute, followed by a clear call to the Gospel ministry, Carlton has a wealth of experience on which to call. His ties to New Mexico began with a call to assist a friend ministering to Native American kids at Zuni Pueblo. Later, he lived in Gallup, supporting his ministry by working for a local radio station as an on-air newsman. Those New Mexico ties remain strong, thanks to family and friends still living in the Land of Enchantment. Carlton now lives in historic Williamsburg, Virginia, and pastors Trinity Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia.
